The quiet rebuild
We're rebuilding Fluxiom's foundation.
Not to reinvent it, and not as a cleanup exercise — but to make it easier to change things without breaking what people rely on. Over time, complexity builds up. Things still work, but every change gets harder.
So we removed a lot of what had accumulated since the early days. Less code. Fewer moving parts. A foundation that lets us move faster without cutting corners.
Rebuilding for existing users is a constraint we took seriously. We didn't start over. We built on what was already there and improved it step by step.
What this means in practice is that Fluxiom feels more direct to use. Navigation is faster, common actions are closer to the content, and the interface behaves more consistently across the app. Working with assets, previews, tags, and selections requires fewer steps and less attention, especially if you use Fluxiom every day.
This is close. We’re finishing the last details and getting ready to ship.
